About the job

Summary

The Homeland Security Group (HSG) leads for the Home Office on Counter Terrorism and National Security issues. HSG supports the Home Secretary and other Ministers in the development and implementation of CONTEST, the UK’s counter terrorism strategy.

Roles within HSG are interesting and high profile and impact daily on the safety and security of the UK. HSG staff have played a key role in the Government’s response to the 2017 attacks in Manchester and London, and the incidents in 2018 in Salisbury and Amesbury.

As set out in the Integrated Review, Economic Crime underpins serious and organised crime, fuels terrorism and can be used by malign actors to threaten national security. To counter these threats, the Economic Crime Directorate leads the delivery of the Government’s landmark public-private Economic Crime Plan.

An opportunity has arisen to join the Economic Crime Secretariat team.

Job description

Economic Crime Directorate are looking for a high performing individual to fill a current vacancy within the Economic Crime Secretariat team.

As the HEO, you would be expected to take charge of working across Whitehall and the private sector to draft high quality written and oral products for senior figures to support critical boards and meetings, working with the SEO to understand the strategic priorities and objectives and ensuring that we are challenging stakeholders to deliver on their commitments, and provide assurance to our Ministers..

We would particularly welcome applications from people who are currently under-represented within the Home Office at this grade, specifically Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people, and people with a disability.
