The role must support and work closely with PPPT management team and in particular the SRO , who is responsible for delivering the PPPT programme. To develop a strong understanding of the wider financial implications of the different funding streams as well as the financial plans of the Major law enforcement portfolio.

This role will also lead the SR21 Bid for PPPT and must ensure that the team has the capacity and skills to support the multiple workstreams across the Directorate.

The post-holder will lead on providing the financial position and forecast outlook for the Directorate as part of the Programme’s regular monthly management reporting cycle. The post holder will need to be a qualified accountant.

Due to the demands and nature of the role, this role would only be available for full time applicants.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly reporting and briefing to the SRO and Finance Director, developing accurate and timely forecasting to support decision making
  • Support as required the Police Settlement process including developing scenarios to understand the impact on wider HO budgets
  • Develop capability to deliver SR21
  • Strategic stakeholder management across the law enforcement sector
  • Financial management of the Memorandum of Trade Association (MTA)
  • Management of stakeholders and budgets across multiple funding streams
  • Team Management and ensuring the standards and culture within the team meet the expectations of the Home Office
  • Provide financial oversight and support on projects aimed at delivering a better and more efficient law enforcement system

A qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent i.e. ACCA; CIPFA; ICAEW; ICAI or ICAS, or CIMA, or a European or international equivalent qualification)

Desirable Criteria

  • Team leadership
  • Board Reporting
  • Drafting of submissions to ensure they reflect financial impact and risks maintenance of key assurance processes including Risk Registers and Issues Logs
