What you’ll be doing…

The Social Media Editor is responsible for working alongside editorial teams in the Tech vertical to help them maintain the overall health of their social media platforms and audiences. This covers three key areas: finding opportunities to increase referral traffic from appropriate channels; growing audiences and engagement on social media platforms to create better leverage for paid commercial campaigns; and evaluating, advising and iterating new formats (video, ecommerce) and new social platforms for growth opportunities. The Social Media Editor’s role is both advisory and hands-on.

The Social Media Editor will have a strong interest in all things Tech and dedicate their time and skills to priority Tech brands while offering guidance to other teams within the vertical. They will foster a platform-specific approach to improving social media referrals, focusing on the editorial team’s current and active editorial strategies.

Experience That Will Put You Ahead Of The Curve…
  • Experience of working in social media to promote a brand and drive traffic to a website using best practices.
  • Great knowledge of social media platform features and trends.
  • Basic video and photo capture/editing skills including Canva.
  • Understanding of social media metrics, data gathering and interpretation to inform social strategy.
  • Experience of using social media publishing tools, such as Social Flow.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while maintaining good relationships and communication with Head of Social and Tech editorial teams.
