This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our Special Educational Needs and Disability Assessment and Review Team (SENDART). We are passionate about promoting high aspirations and expectations for children and young people and we are now seeking a like-minded individual to join our team to support the growing number of children and young people in the East Riding with SEND (0-25 years) and their families. This post is to support the statutory Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessment, planning and review processes; ensuring that we are able to provide both a timely and quality service, to secure the best possible outcomes for children and young people with SEND. This is a really exciting time to be joining us on our journey of development, and be part of a team that is ambitious and aspiring to provide outstanding services to the children and young people in the East Riding of Yorkshire and their families.
We are looking for an experienced, dedicated leader to join SENDART as a Senior Education, Health and Care Officer. The post holder will be responsible for leading and managing a team of EHC officers to work in a person-centred approach.
You will join a busy, fast paced team working closely with schools and settings to ensure the effective delivery of EHC assessment and planning processes, and to assist schools and settings in facilitating high quality annual review’s for children and young people with EHC Plans. You will oversee the processing of recommendations from annual reviews of SEND for pupils with an EHC Plan across the full range of education settings; ensuring timely issuing of outcomes to annual reviews takes place and that any requests for change of placement, funding or transport are actioned and communicated to appropriate services.
You will ensure that the EHC assessment and annual review processes produce high quality EHC Plans completed within statutory timeframes. You will also be required to oversee the coordination of the delivery of relevant services / provision to ensure effective and timely delivery of EHC processes; working with relevant professionals in education, health and social care services, and other relevant disciplines, to ensure their knowledge, experience, skills and relevant assessments inform EHC Plans.
You will have a degree or equivalent, preferably in a related field, and have experience of working with children, young people with SEND and their families. You will have experience of managing, coaching and leading staff along with experience of project management.
