Join our dynamic Medicines Optimisation Team as a Pharmacy Support Worker! This newly-created role will give you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience in this specialist area.

About the role and our team

Medicines optimisation is about ensuring that the right patients get the right choice of medication at the right time. Our goal is to help patients improve their outcomes, take their medication correctly, avoid unnecessary medicines, reduce waste and improve patient safety.

You will use your working knowledge of pharmacy to work on a variety of projects within primary and community care, namely GP surgeries, care homes, community mental health and the learning disability service.

Your key duties will include:

  • Collecting data for audits related to medicines and patients care
  • Working on repeat prescribing projects to reduce waste
  • Supporting others in the correct ordering, dispensing and storage of medicines
  • Creating reports/letters for GP surgeries detailing work undertaken, outcomes and recommendations
