About the role and our team

Join our team as an Active Travel Liaison Officer, where you will help promote cycling, walking and the use of public transport to businesses and their employees on the Isle of Man.

Your main goal will be to increase the number of commuters who are travelling to and from work by more active and sustainable methods. This links in with the Isle of Man Government’s long-term vision to encourage more people to partake in Active Travel transport methods.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Workingwith commuters from businesses in the Douglas area to undertake baseline travel behaviour research
  • Helping businesses create tailored programmes to help overcome identified barriers to Active Travel methods
  • Encouraging the uptake of walking and cycling by producing action orientated Active Travel plans for businesses that focus on behaviour change
  • Developing an improvement plan which focuses on working with businesses and/or communities
