Team Leader - Law Enforcement

About the role and our team

Join the Customs & Excise Division in Treasury on the Isle of Man as a Team Leader – Law Enforcement.

Within this role, you’ll ensure that conduct which constitutes an attack on the Island’s indirect tax system or international reputation in respect of Customs & Excise assigned matters is identified, investigated and appropriate action taken.

Day to day, your responsibilities will include:

• Management of the Law Enforcement Team overseeing the work they undertake protecting the borders of the Isle of Man
• Investigating alleged offences in connection with the revenues and duties administered by the Customs and Excise Division
• Managing and monitoring cases and operations undertaken by the team. Giving advice and guidance on technical matters in relation to these, authorise judicial applications and review cases subject to such applications (ROSE, expiry of warrants, etc,)
• Ensuring that staff work within the laws, rules protocols/procedures and codes of practice which govern the variety of working methods used by the section to deliver its objectives in relation to assigned matters
