Fixed Term Contract: Full Time - 35 Hours per Week

Fixed term Contract Duration: 12 Months

The School of Philosophy, Psychology & Language Sciences is seeking to recruit a Marketing & Communications Coordinator, on a full time, fixed term post for 12 months.

The Opportunity:

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator, with support from the Marketing & Communications Manager, will be leading on many aspects of the design, production and development of marketing and communications activity that will attract well qualified applicants and entrants in order to meet the School and University’s strategic recruitment objectives.

Liaising with students and staff within the School as well as colleagues across the University, the post-holder will be able to manage competing priorities and will play an important role in the implementation and coordination of a cohesive marketing & communications plan in line with School and University expectations.

The School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences provides an exciting work environment through its three subject areas that have a diverse and dynamic research and teaching portfolio.

The post holder will actively support and contribute to the school’s success, and will be encouraged to also deliver ideas for continuous improvement opportunities as they arise.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • HNC/HND or equivalent level qualifications plus previous relevant work experience, or broad experience, acquired through a combination of job related training and considerable on-the-job experience, demonstrating development through involvement in progressively more demanding relevant work/roles.
  • High level of copy-writing and editorial accuracy essential. Proven written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write, adapt, and synthesise information, in a range of voices and styles for varied projects with diverse audiences.
  • Experience of working with key communications and design software e.g. InDesign, Photoshop, Google Analytics, Buffer, Canva.
  • Expertise in social media and digital content creation.
  • Excellent IT skills and up to date knowledge of content management.

This is a full time, fixed term position (12 months maternity leave cover) with an ideal start date of early June 2023. Whilst a flexible approach to work pattern can be considered, some on campus working will be required.
