Your role
Are you fascinated by the complexity of the global financial markets? Do you have sharp analytical skills and a strong desire to learn? Are you independent and self-driven?

We are looking for a Market Risk Officer like you to:

  • review and analyze - on a daily basis - the risks originating from the Rates and/or FX activity, follow the markets and challenge the desk’s risk profile
  • communicate market risk exposures to a range of audiences, including senior management
  • participate in local, regional, and global ad-hoc risk investigations, projects and/or initiatives.
  • review the appropriateness of limits frameworks and related controls

Your team
You’ll be working in our Market Risk team in London, which is based on the trading floor and is part of our broader Group Risk Control function. Our major responsibility is to identify and monitor the portfolio’s market risks to achieve an appropriate balance between risk and return while minimizing potential risk concentrations and ensure we are operating in line with UBS strategic priorities and values. In your role, you will work with colleagues across Trading, Risk Control, Finance, Quants, Business Management and Operations.

Your expertise

  • a Bachelors’ degree (Masters degree a plus but not required), preferably in a quantitative discipline
  • strong technical and analytical skills allowing you to apply quantitative techniques to solve practical problems
  • a genuine interest in and good understanding of financial markets, and a desire to understand in-depth the risk profile of UBS traded products and the markets we operate in
  • excellent interpersonal skills to deal with traders and support staff from a wide range of functions within the bank
  • a desire to work efficiently and to recommend and implement process improvements where necessary
  • a strong desire to learn, a strong sense of ownership of his/her work and an excellent work ethic
