Your role
Are you someone who enjoys working with vanilla and complex transactions in a fast paced investment banking environment? Are you naturally curious and ambitious? Do you have sharp analytical skills?

We’re looking for a Credit Risk Analyst who can:

  • take forward the underwriting process and perform fundamental credit analysis to provide independent risk recommendations to senior risk officers and front office management
  • engage with and challenge front office teams to ensure transactions are consistent with UBS’s risk appetite and regulatory expectations
  • review and finalize counterparty periodic reviews/credit proposals, providing recommendations on appropriate trading limits and guidelines and drawing conclusions related to credit assessment and risk tolerance
  • closely monitor business and industry developments to maintain up to date risk ratings and portfolio outlooks

Your team
You will be working in our Counterparty Credit Risk specialist team within Global Risk Control. We are responsible for assessing, approving and monitoring the creditworthiness of counterparties, with focus on financial institutions, sovereigns and corporate clients.

The role will provide opportunities to work as part of a global credit risk control function spanning across EMEA, US and APAC. Our product focus includes OTC Derivatives, Repos, Exchange Traded Derivatives, Structured Lending and Trade & Export Finance. We are primarily located in the UBS London office and ultimately report into our Chief Risk Officer.

Your expertise

  • a minimum of 2-3 years’ relevant work experience
  • degree-educated and CFA or another professional qualification (e.g. FRM) highly desired
  • experience working as a Credit Officer in a financial institution covering Insurance and Banks or a similar role
  • ability to write clear concise risk analysis to support your recommendations
  • ability to make and defend credit decisions under scrutiny from senior risk and front office management and internal auditors
  • strong communication skills and a proven track record in building relationships
  • knowledge of banking, derivatives and capital markets products
  • familiar with trading documentation (including ISDA and GMRA)
