About the Role


The Head of Finance Business Partnering for Place and Corporate will lead and implement the business partnering function across the directorate, supporting the service leadership team to develop, challenge and deliver service and project plans.

Other key responsibilities include;

  • Developing a high performing team that challenges the status quo and works in partnership with services to develop new delivery models to maximise the outcomes for residents
  • Supporting the council’s leadership at all levels to develop a strategic and workable response to the financial challenges the council faces
  • Leading the provision of financial advice and support within Business Partnering, particularly with reference to delivering savings and maximising service outcomes to residents.
  • Contributing to the achievement of the finance service’s vision and contribute towards an innovative and continuous improvement culture

Candidate Profile


To be suitable for the role you need to be a fully qualified accountant, with proven experience of developing relationships with and influencing senior stakeholders. The ability to develop staff and drive through a continuous improvement approach is also essential.
