The role offers the opportunity to work with a group of up to 8 children from across Key Stage 1 within Haughton’s brand new specialist KS1 hub at Hollinswood Primary School. You would be expected to plan and deliver specific interventions and lessons in the hub classroom, whilst also supporting the children to access learning in their mainstream classes and participate in the inclusive school community at every possible opportunity.

  • naturally resilient and a team player who can work collaboratively in a multi professional team
  • a teacher who embraces an inclusive approach and has the ethos and understanding to teach effectively within our Key Stage 1 provision in an inclusive mainstream setting
The role includes working alongside mainstream staff under the guidance of the leadership teams of both the special and mainstream school, managing support staff, personalising learning programs for individual children, empowering mainstream teachers through modelling and sharing good practice and forging strong links with all stakeholders. We would be particularly interested in someone who has experience of working with children with additional needs that relate to communication and interaction (including autism) in a mainstream or in a specialist setting.

If you have genuine passion and enthusiasm for making a difference and can deliver engaging lessons across the curriculum, we would love to hear from you.
