Loxley Hall School (Manor Hall Academy Trust)

Loxley Hall School

Class Teacher ( General Subjects)

£30,000 to £41,333 Plus £2,539 SEN plus £1667.76 Extraneous Duties

As part of Loxley Hall School’s curriculum development we are looking for an inspiring and imaginative teacher who is able to adapt their style of teaching to ensure that learning is fun, practical and creative. The successful candidate would need to be able to demonstrate they can meet the needs of secondary aged children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. We are a secondary residential school for 96 boys who have experienced difficulty in accessing mainstream education.

Candidates may come from any phase (primary or secondary). While the successful applicant should be comfortable teaching suitably adapted and differentiated general subjects, including Maths and English, familiarity in teaching a specialist subject to a GCSE level would be desirable.

It is a prerequisite that all interested candidates take the opportunity to visit the school prior to applying for the post. A guided tour of the school will be offered either individually or as part of a group. Please contact the School Office to book a tour (01889 723050). Please note that references will be sought prior to interview and shortlisted candidates will be expected to teach a lesson on the day of interview.

Our trustees offer strong leadership to the academy and are committed to honest self-evaluation and continual improvement. They have a wide range of skills and provide challenge and support in equal measure.

In return the school will provide access to comprehensive and flexible Employee Assistance Programmes which include:

  • Tech schemes
  • Cycle to work schemes
  • Online gym classes
  • Health and wellbeing support
  • Financial advice services
  • Thinkwell fast track counselling service
  • Physiotherapy
  • Retail discounts in supermarkets, high street shops, restaurants and days out
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This position is subject to a criminal records check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) (former CRB) which will require you to disclose details of all unspent and unfiltered spent reprimands, formal warnings, cautions and convictions in your application form. It is an offence to apply for the role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. A copy of our safeguarding policy can be found here.
