What you’ll be doing
Working as a Cashier, your role will be to provide a high quality customer transaction, enquiry and information service to East Riding residents.
You will work as part of a friendly and helpful team, who support each other. You will be engaging with customers, from different backgrounds and supporting them with the self-service equipment. Be on hand to diagnose and report any technical faults that occur on the self-service machines. You will also have the opportunity to learn new skills along the way, with the support from your supervisor and colleagues. You will be responsible for banking payments made to the council and to progress customer needs in a responsive, friendly and professional manner including signposting and supporting customers to access relevant payment methods
About You
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and confident individual to join our team. This is a customer facing role, so good communication and listening skills are essential.
This job ideally would suit someone with experience of working with the public.

You will need to demonstrate:
Experience of working with the public
You are a team player
Confident with IT and technology
A positive attitude towards change
Enthusiasm and willingness to learn new skills
Cash handling experience
Enjoys working with people
Are non-judgemental
You are comfortable, when required, to deal with difficult situations in an effective and friendly approach, whilst keeping calm under pressure and maintaining a professional manner.

Hours of Work:
Monday & Wednesday 8:45 to 16:45
Thursday – 5 hours (between 08:45 and 16:45)
Friday 8:45 to 16:15
