Job Description and Qualifications

A key member of the UKI Engineering team, The UKI Asset & Workshop Manager has end to end ownership of our Micro bulk and Liquid bulk tank inventory. They are accountable for the safe and effective operations at our Worcester workshop and third party locations. They will work closely with the Sales team, Planners, 3 rd party vendors, operating teams, central function and regional Specialists to drive EBITDA margin improvement and excellent customer service through effective capital deployment.

The role will be responsible for defining capital spend for the micro and liquid bulk installations, ensuring that performance against this forecast is managed effectively by their team. They will ensure that all opportunities to deploy existing assets are visible and maximized. The incumbent will lead a team who manage the refurbishment and preparation of liquid storage tanks.

This team includes the UKI Warehousing organization, with responsibility for controlling the centrally held critical and non-critical spares for the wider UKI operations teams, ensuring the compliance with AP Standards and SAP work practices. The role will be responsible for ensuring that the critical capital spares held in the warehouse are maintained in a suitable condition for immediate use.

This Position Is Accountable For

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Leading the safety performance and culture of the department, through application of

  • Active vendor management
  • Achieving the defined service levels from a cost and time perspective, ensuring we supply our customers on time
  • Drive for the most cost-efficient scheduling of work activities, ensuring there is a continuous focus on operational improvement within the team
  • Work with other Operations groups to ensure the sparing strategies are developed and implemented in the warehouse, including the necessary on-going monitoring or maintenance to ensure integrity of the critical capital spares is maintained.
  • Developing a culture of accountability, competency, and people development within the team.
  • Optimize our UKI asset pool to maximize EBITDA and ROCE
  • Tasks/Activities (not linked to Hay evaluation)
    Including but not limited to:-
  • Developing a culture of continuous improvement, using data to challenge what we do and look for opportunities to driver greater efficiencies in our scheduling and asset planning activities.
  • Developing and expanding use of digital tools for simplification and automated data collection.
  • Supporting the use of he digital tools across other Operational groups.
  • Daily KPI monitoring of activities, looking for deviations and addressing these in a timely manner
  • Review of business opportunities and ensuring assets are available when required
  • Timely and accurate closure of activity documentation
  • Participation in regional activities to ensure a consistency of approach with the other sub-regions and the creation and deployment of initiatives designed to improve supply chain effectiveness and efficiency whilst maintaining the highest of safety and technical standards.
  • To ensure the use of contractors in all technical activity is appropriately controlled and approved, and that vendors engaged to provide such services meet the requirements of the business safety and performance policies.
  • Drive our quality standards across the team to maintain the company’s ISO accreditations
  • To be the lead technical authority and to manage the specification, purchase, and execution of all tank refurbishment in the UK&I
