Position: Bid Manager
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + Commission

About The Role (Its Purpose)

The purpose of this role is to,

  • Lead the production of all complex bids and quotations for the sales team
  • Act as the primary point of contact with third party suppliers (specification, materials and

pricing) required for complex bid production.

Job Description (What We Want You To Do)

  • Lead all aspects of the complex bid process
  • Establish and implement a tangible and robust bid qualification process
  • Achieve complex bid production targets and service level agreements
  • Develop excellent relationships with third party suppliers
  • Lead the R&D documentation production process
  • Ensure the price book is accurate at all times
  • Confidently articulate products, services and value proposition
  • Hold a comprehensive understanding of processes and systems
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional colleagues from enquiry to implementation
  • Deliver all required complex bid reports and CRM updates in a timely manner
  • Establish and implement a robust post bid review process
  • Be prepared to travel to supplier and customer site as required.

The Person (What you need to be successful in this role)

Experience

  • A successful track record in the production of B2B complex bids and quotations
  • Proven experience of working in virtual team environments (sales, operations, workshop)
  • Proven understanding of CNC manufacturing, technical drawings and specifications
  • Successful experience in a multi-faceted role involving complex document production.

Skills

  • Excellent organisation and planning skills
  • The commercial acumen to construct and cost high value complex proposals
  • The intellectual capability required to understand and articulate how their

products and services match customer applications

  • The personal ability to collaborate, lead and influence a diverse range of people,

including third party suppliers, customers, partners and colleagues

  • A demonstrable ability to problem solve within a commercial manufacturing environment
  • The ability to multi-task, prioritise workloads and manage time effectively
  • A solid understanding of 3D CAD modelling processes
  • The emotional intelligence required to work productively in a virtual team environment
  • The ability to communicate concisely and confidently
  • The desire to continually improve your capability to perform your role successfully.

Requirements

  • Education: Technical or Engineering Degree (preferred but not essential)
  • Intellectual Horsepower: High proficiency in Maths and English
  • IT literate: High level of MS office capability essential
  • Driving Licence: Essential
  • Be located within easy commuting distance to (Blackburn) office
