More about the Role
The Project Technician is part of a team responsible for undertaking the financial and technical delivery of allocated project activities related to product offerings and production plants. This may include Food, Industrial, Electronic, plant operations and Cylinder Filling at Air Products and customer facilities.

LOCATION: Worcester or North West or flexible
EDUCATION: ONC Minimum or other level of technical qualification
EXPERIENCE: Experience with on-site supervision of installations, working with contractors, issuing permits
CONTRACT: permanent
SALARY: competitive salary + annual bonus + competitive benefits + company car

As the Project Technician , you will control the onsite installation and commissioning of pressure systems, site modifications and ancillary equipment in-line with quality, safety, and process requirements. Design and project management is managed by a project manager/project engineer.

Your role is a mix of office and site work with required travel and time away as dictated by the workload. You will be involved in projects, proposals, maintenance activities and on-site supervision to both internal and external customers. You will also successfully contribute to the performance and KPIs set for the projects. A key objective is the ability to manage multiple on-site projects concurrently, control of contractors and to strict time scales and budgets. The ability to issue permit to work will be a key skill.

To succeed in your role, you must be good at giving clear direction, planning, and developing key relationships with the in-house safety organisation, other stakeholders, and the project manager to ensure delivery of the project installation.

The Project Technician is a key on site connection for office-based engineers. This is a great opportunity to develop your practical skills in contractor management and project processes in a varied environment.

As the Project Technician, you already have
  • Technical qualification
  • Proven experience in on site supervision and control of contractors
  • Good process understanding (familiarity of P&IDs & other technical documentation)
  • Understanding of legislative and statutory compliance desirable
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent understanding of safety
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple projects and priorities
