Job overview

The post holder will work with the Ambulatory Care Divisional Leadership Team to provide robust information and analysis to achieve the Trust’s vision of being ‘Outstanding in health outcomes and patient and staff experience. The post holder will be responsible for providing analytical support to the Divisional as part of the Business and Planning team. Key responsibilities of the role include information management, working with clinical teams to develop business intelligence tools which support operational delivery and analysis of key datasets to ensure that the service achieves its performance objectives.

Main duties of the job

As a member of the Ambulatory Care Divisional Analyst team you will be a core part of the wider Business and Planning Team within the Ambulatory Care Division.

You will work closely with the Principal Analyst and Business and Planning Manager to provide high quality information to support service development, operational management and delivery of high quality patient services. We have a clear agenda relating to sing business intelligence to drive performance , modernisation and new ways of working to meet the ever-growing levels of patient activity and service demands: therefore a logical thinker with strong organisational and communication skills are key requirements for this role.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
    • Educated to degree level or equivalent learning/experience.
    • Basic understanding of the role of information in Acute Trusts.

Experience

Essential criteria
    • Experience of analysis & validation of various types of data to inform decision making and identify opportunities for improvement.
Desirable criteria
  • • Previous NHS experience • Previous SSRS and Qlik Sense experience

Communication and relationship skills

Essential criteria
  • • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to work with staff at all levels. • Communicating and explaining highly complex information to various levels of staff. • Able to deliver presentations. • Ability to operate as member of multidisciplinary team. • Information can be sensitive and/or contentious.

Analytical and Judgement skills

Essential criteria
  • • Identify, assess and solve problems using own judgement for presentation of complicated information. • High level of numeracy with good problem solving and attention to detail • Knowledge and use of Query Tools and languages, i.e. SQL, SSRS, QlikSense or similar. • Advanced knowledge of Windows environment and the Microsoft suite of applications. • Ability to manipulate data and present in the most appropriate format (maps, charts, tables etc)

Planning and organisation skills

  • • Ability to approach tasks with an attention to detail. • Ability to prioritise differing / conflicting demands by clients and meet agreed/ statutory deadlines. • Organisation / Prioritisation of day to day tasks

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.

  • Transfer of information: If I have previous NHS service - I consent to the transfer of my Electronic Staff Record (ESR) data between this and other NHS Trusts. I also consent to the Occupational Health Departmentconfidentially accessing my occupational health records from my current or previous employer in order to check the status of my vaccinations, immunisations s and screening tests as relevant to the post. I understand this is an automated process and the information will only be used for these purposes prior to me taking up the position at NUH.
  • Disclosure and Barring Service: Your post maybe subject to a DBS check which incur a cost dependent on the level of check required (£45 for enhanced and £28 for standard). I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check if it is required (by deduction from first month’s pay). Should I decide to withdraw from my job offer, I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of the DBS check undertaken by cheque or other agreed method.
