The Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is looking to appoint a permanent Outpatients Service manager to support our busy Gateway E department at the Nottingham treatment Centre

As a Service Manager for Endocrinology and Rheumatology Outpatients you will be supporting the Outpatients Specialty General Manager to deliver high quality and timely care for our patients, supporting the performance standards in RTT. You will cover all aspects of service delivery including some staff management. We are looking for someone who can enthusiastically take on these challenges and be part of part of a growing team.

Main duties of the job

You will have experience in staff management and project work, both leading and delivering. You will be able to work under pressure and work to deadlines, have good communication and negotiation skills, and excellent planning, time management and organisational skills. You will be able to prioritize your workload and be able to delegate your team’s workload throughout the day. You must be able to take on additional responsibility when required and be able use initiative to problem solve existing issues and any potential problems that may arise.

This would suit any candidate looking to further progress their career towards a senior management role, or to gain further operational and strategic experience within the NHS.

The successful candidate will be educated to university degree standard or will have equivalent experience. It is preferable to have had some experience working at a similar level within the NHS and line manager experience is desirable.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Working as part of a small management team the post holder will support the delivery of key performance objectives both strategically and operationally for the Outpatients Endocrinology, and Rheumatology patient pathways

Responsibilities will include staff line management, delivery of national access targets and project goals, management of trust waiting lists and development of staff and processes for current and future state.

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.

  • Disclosure and Barring Service: Your post maybe subject to a DBS check which incur a cost dependent on the level of check required (£45 for enhanced and £28 for standard). I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check if it is required (by deduction from first month’s pay). Should I decide to withdraw from my job offer, I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of the DBS check undertaken by cheque or other agreed method.
