Warehouse Operative

Work at our state of the art Distribution Centre in Alwalton Hill, delivering excellent customer service for customers with intimate healthcare needs. Productivity and Quality performance will be measured. You will perform a range of tasks including picking orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse.

Shifts available - Early / Late shifts, rotating weekly. Night shifts also available. Flexible working patterns may also be considered.
  • To pick, pack or cut customers’ orders in line with our ISO Quality Management System
  • In our Pick/Pack area, you will pick products from around our warehouse, pack orders in line with customer requirements and prepare to ship orders to customers.
  • In our Cutting Room, you will undertake customisation of Ostomy products using a machine to cut the bags or manually cutting them to meet customer specifications
  • Inspect products for defects and damages prior to processing
  • Replenish materials in the area as and when required
  • To carry out order checks as advised by the Supervisor
  • Be open to develop skills in all sections of the Warehouse in order to multi-skill and support across the teams when
  • To support and actively participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • To adhere to set policies and procedures at all times
  • To personally maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout working day (6S approach) and to ensure that non-compliance is brought to attention of your Supervisor.
  • To proactively drive own development through available tools and processes
Personal Characteristics
  • You will be dependable and reliable with good communication, organizational & time management skills
  • Have a flexible approach to shift patterns and times on occasion
  • Ideally be experienced in delivering high quality measures and KPI’s
  • You will have the ability to work to challenging deadlines and targets whilst maintaining quality of service and attention to detail.
  • Feel confident to develop ideas and offer input to improve the warehouse processes and prepare them for constantly changing business situations
Experience
  • Warehouse or Production environment experience is desirable. Knowledge of working to good distribution principles, ideally within the healthcare industry
  • Ideally you will have gained working knowledge of scanners or similar systems
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
  • Good level of verbal and written English language skills and good numeracy skills
