Join a team of next generation thinkers.What To ExpectIn this role, working within Vehicle Dynamics, you will perform vehicle road based and rig-based ride tests on a range of JLR and competitor vehicles, collecting, processing and disseminating data required to deliver leadership in vehicle dynamics against world-class competition. To be successful, the candidate will need to possess a high level of drive, be capable of independent working to tight deadlines, and display both business and technical acumen.Key Performance Indicators
  • All vehicle tests performed to agreed deadlines
  • Data analysed and results immediately disseminated to development engineers and where applicable next development steps recommended
  • Improvements to test methods, metrics and test facilities identified and progressed
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities :
  • Perform vehicle objective ride tests for a range of JLR and competitor vehicles to tight deadlines
  • Analyse and disseminate results
  • Provide concise conclusions, recommendations based on objective data supported by subjective evaluation
  • Support ride metrics and test method development (physical and virtual) strengthening link to subjective evaluation
  • Provide link between metrics and subjective evaluation
What You NeedKnowledge, Skills and ExperienceEssential:
  • Thorough understanding of vehicle dynamics, particularly ride comfort.
  • Excellent team working, organisation and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle instrumentation
  • Practical experience of ride or vibration data analysis
  • Project and test plan management
  • Full UK or equivalent driving license
Desirable:
  • Experience with data processing tools such as Matlab, Prosig DATS, LMS
  • Engineering relevant degree qualification
  • Vehicle dynamics subjective evaluation skills
  • Previous experience of problem-solving tools e.g. Root Cause Analysis, 8 Disciplines of problem solving, Design of Experiments
  • Experience with relevant virtual tools such as Simpack, Carmaker, Matlab/Simulink
