Transformation Programme Lead – Gatwick Airport

The Opportunity:

Are you a Programme Lead looking for a new opportunity?

Gatwick Airport is currently looking for a Transformation Programme Lead to join our team. Reporting into the Business Improvement Director, in this role, you will coordinate the development of a range of people, process, and technology change across the business to ensure the continued optimisation of the airfield, the current single runway as well as the long-term integration of the future Northern Runway.

The Role:

As the Transformation Programme Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating transformational/ innovative change across all parts of the organisation in support of operational sponsors.
  • Being the overall programme lead for all change associated with the airfield and runway optimisation
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety, legal, regulatory and service obligations applicable to the change.
  • Coordinating the development of process and technical solutions, leading supply chain relationships to ensure fit for purpose solutions are developed
  • Ensuring the development and implementation of aerodrome regulatory change does not impact daily stable operations and meets current and future Core Service Standard requirements, ensuring business continuity at all times
  • Building strong relationships with operational teams and regulatory bodies to enable successful change.
  • Working collaboratively with the Portfolio Sponsor to enable successful change.

Do you have what we’re looking for?

  • Experience as a programme lead for change and transformation with the ability to act as the necessary conduit to support wider change
  • Demonstrable influencing skills to leverage change associated benefits across the business, focused within an operational environment.
  • Engineering, mathematics or science based undergraduate degree with strong IT experience.
  • Airport and airspace experience would be a distinct advantage.
  • MBA or other Masters qualification preferred.

Strengths & Behaviours

  • The person will need to demonstrate leadership behaviours and values for direct and indirect reports, the person should have the skill to provide leadership beyond reporting lines. It is envisaged that a core team will be created as the project develops.
  • Senior leadership influence across aerodrome personnel and further wider Gatwick operational and construction staff.
  • Sponsorship across all stages of the transformation with portfolio remit likely up to or exceeding £50m
  • Stakeholder management internally up to and including Main Board, externally up to and including airline management, supply chains and governmental level (DfT, CAA)
