The Opportunity:

Are you a Commercial Strategist professional looking for a new opportunity providing a well-rounded work/life balance?

Gatwick Airport is currently looking for a Commercial Strategist to join our Commercial team. Reporting into the Commercial Analytics and Insight Manager, in this varied and interesting role, you will be responsible for completing analytic projects, supporting the senior commercial team in decision-making, working with commercial stakeholders across the function to deliver results.

Successful applicants will have a technical capability in financial modelling, analytics and data manipulation, and the commercial awareness to apply these to pressing business questions.

The Role:

As the Commercial Strategist at Gatwick you will be responsible for:

• Scoping and delivering projects which arrive at rigorous and actionable answers for Commercial decision-makers
• Producing accurate and auditable analytical models to answer strategic commercial questions
• Producing reliably high-quality output
• Working with stakeholders across the Commercial function to identify and quantify opportunities

Do you have what we’re looking for?

Skills & Expertise

• Experience of working in a Strategy team or other senior advisory role.
• 3+ years in a top-tier or boutique Strategy Consultancy
• Understanding of commercial issues/drivers impacting our Commercial function (Retail, Catering, Car Parking/Yield Mgt., Property or Aviation).
• Familiarity with MS Office, especially Excel, including modelling / forecasting. Ability to work in other data analysis tools (e.g. R, Python) is helpful, but training in these areas can also be provided to strong candidates.
• Understanding of key strategic concepts, e.g. customer segmentation, market sizing, business/investment cases, elasticity, etc.
• Proven ability to break down problems, test hypotheses, and produce recommendations based on a range of quantitative and qualitive data.
• Evidence of innovation, entrepreneurialism and the ability to rigorously test and apply new ideas is a plus
