Opportunities at Female Only IRC

We’re looking for people to create a brand new team based at our new Immigration Removal Centre (IRC), as part of our newly acquired contract. Individuals will have experience in relating to people that may be agitated or confused by their circumstances and are able to interact and assist potentially vulnerable individuals whilst in our care. Empathy and resilience are key attributes for this role.

You will be passionate about delivering a great service in a sensitive manner, along with good communication skills and a team player. The ability to remain calm under pressure and experience in problem solving would also be advantageous to developing your career within Care and Custody.


Job Description


Training Officer

40 Hours Per Week

£27,000

Overall Purpose :

  • To provide support to the contract by providing interactive and insightful training sessions for the ITC, ITC refresher and other training to ensure compliance with all legislation, company policies and procedures and all contractual and relevant Home Office standards and best practice.
  • Deliver effective training ensuring best practice is embedded and compliance with contractual and all relevant standards and requirements is maintained at all times.
  • Working with the HR Team, plan and organise the ITC training in line with budgetary parameters, HO and company policy and procedures to ensure a pipeline of quality candidates is available to meet changing business requirements.
  • Review, design and develop existing and future training programmes ensuring training remains appropriate and effective.
  • Identify training needs and take appropriate action to ensure contractual and all relevant standards compliance.
  • Maintain accurate training records to enable effective planning of training.
  • Proactively provide professional training and development advice and support to managers and staff, to ensure that all staff are developed to their full potential and able to pursue career paths.

Qualifications


Experience in the use of a range of techniques to support training and development activities is desired.

Education and training qualification level 3 desired or Previous coaching/ teaching experience

Must be positive and self-motivating with the ability to champion the Mitie core values

Excellent and clear verbal/written communication skills

Ability to use and work with Word/Excel


Additional Information


Health and Safety responsibilities:

  • Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;
  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system;

Information Security:

  • Ensure compliance with Mitie’s information security procedures in all activities;
  • Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager;
  • Report actual and suspected security incidents;
