An opportunity has become available for an experienced Trainer within operational Training at HQ, Northallerton.

The main responsibilities will include planning; developing and delivering quality assured training solutions to agreed Force and National specifications in order to enable all levels of staff, officers and volunteers to develop the correct skills for their roles in order to meet organisational needs.

The role has responsibility for delivering complex and extensive training programs in compliance with the PEQF and College of Policing guidance.

The post holder will: -
  • Design, develop and deploy training including reviewing different ways of delivering a session.
  • They will be responsible for identifying the types of activities to use in a session, deciding on the appropriate use of individual and group activities.
  • Review the potential for using technology-based learning and e-learning methods as part of the session
  • Prepare material and equipment for different types of sessions and evaluating how effective the session is against learning objectives.

The successful candidate will have a desire to develop in a police training role and have experience of developing and coaching others. A positive outlook and excellent customer service and interpersonal skills will be key.

You must also have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will possess a level 4 Award in Education and Training or the equivalent. If not, you must have as a minimum a level 3 Award in Education and Training and be prepared to achieve a level 4 qualification within 12 months of appointment.
