Hampshire Trading Standards Service is looking to recruit two motivated and enthusiastic officers to join our Complaints and Investigations Team.

You will be responsible for assessing and actioning a variety of complaints received by the Service from consumers; business and other agencies alike, which can cover a multitude of differenttrading sectors and consumer protection issues.

In this role you will be confronted with a range of complex challenges requiring you to be methodical and utilise problem solving skills to identify practical solutions, based on sound judgement and reasoning. You will provide detailed advice on the relevant legislation, conduct inspections of businesses to ensure compliance with the law and ultimately take formal enforcement action in such circumstance whereby significant alleged criminal offences have been committed.

With the relevant formal qualification (DTS, DCA, DCATS) or significant equivalent experience in the relevant area of law enforcement, you will be ready to take on anew challenge. You will be organised and have flexibility to work occasional unsocial hours. Above all, you will be able to deal sympathetically with members of the public, and businesses, while also being confident in your ability to handle difficult and challenging situations.
