AtHampshire County Council, we make our decisions for the right reasons – not to make headlines and improve our ratings, but to deliver better services to children and familiesacross the county.
As part of our ongoing commitment to investing in frontline social work services, to better enable us to support and protect Children in Need, we are recruiting Assistant Team Managers to become an integral part of our services to children and families.
You will work closely with the team managers to oversee and support the work of front line staff, to enable the team to develop and to deliver good quality services that make a difference. Given how seriously we take development here, you must be willing and motivated to grow in your role and to make the most of the guidance and support, formal supervision and regular training opportunities that will be available to you.
Rated Outstandingby Ofsted, we can offer you a genuinely varied position in one of the top two performing children’s social care authorities in the country.
You will have a social work qualification and will offer substantial post-qualifying experience of complex children and family work, including court work, gained in a statutory setting and you will be someone who sets high professional standards – and maintains them. Above all, you should have a desire to help shape and develop a new service and a commitment to improving the outcomes for some of our most vulnerable children.
- A 9 day working fortnight.
- Annual leave starting from 25 days per annum and rising to 28 days based on experience and length of service.
- A personal assistant, who will provide crucial back office support to free up your time to focus on professional practice.
- A hybrid tablet device, so you can work more effectively and flexibly.
- 5 personal development days per annum.
- Ample progression opportunities.
- Flexible working options to fit around today’s lifestyles.
- Assistance with relocation by offering up to £8,500 for experienced social workers wanting to move to Hampshire (subject to management approval).
Hampshire County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults. We expect all employees, workers and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment.
