Technical Architect – Infrastructure Designer

As a Barclays Technical Architect – Infrastructure Designer, you will be applying your knowledge and technical expertise of infrastructure components and architectures to develop end-to-end technical solutions. You will be supporting the delivery of, and enhancements to the Digital Mobile Platforms that support the Bank’s Mobile applications. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Mobile Infrastructure and Environment Support team, investigating and resolving environmental issues.

What will you be doing?

  • Define the technical solutions for network and middleware components to meet programme and project requirements
  • Design the technical solution for migrating digital projects on to Openshift and AWS
  • Work with Technical Delivery Managers to develop the plan for solution delivery
  • Support Digital Mobile DevOps to implement new changes and provide assistance in managing and coordinating problem investigations
  • Engage and brief Networks, Unix and Middleware teams to ensure detailed requirements are correctly communicated and implemented
  • Attend meetings with programme delivery teams, to provide input on the technical requirements and architectural solutions
  • Facilitating triage of issues that arise, including GTIS dev resources to trouble shoot issues and determine remediation plans
  • Manage multiple business requirements simultaneously

What We’re Looking For

  • Excellent knowledge of infrastructure and middleware platform and component technologies and architectures
  • Good understanding of database technologies
  • Good understanding and experience of Incident and Change Management
  • Good understanding and experience of network infrastructure

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Understanding on Opernshift V3 Architecture and AWS Cloud
  • Good understanding of network layer security and its implementation
  • Awareness of Project & Delivery Management disciplines

Where will you be working?
You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64 acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play.
