We are currently recruiting for a Team Leader to work in Positive Release.This is a full time, permanent position working Monday to Friday 6am to 3.30pm with a salary of £13.50 per hour.
Job Purpose:
To support the Raw Material Quality Lead in the successful management of the Positive Release Team. Co-ordinating the Positive Release Team in order to provide an effective raw material inspection and / or analysis service to the wider operational functions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure the completion of all relevant process documentation and records for the positive release operation.
- Co-ordination of the day to day activities of the positive release team, organising team tasks to ensure timely inspection / analysis of raw materials to satisfy customer order profiles and operational needs.
- Develop and maintain the positive release team in order to sufficiently support the objectives of the team, the department and the business.
- Actively engage in routines to maintain a pro-active approach to food safety, quality & environmental standards across the site, working closely with the Raw Material Quality Lead to drive standards and improve KPI’s.
- Support any continuous improvement projects and the commissioning of equipment, assisting in the development and training out of new procedures.
- Delivery of training to the positive release team. Conducting competency assessments as necessary to support the training regime.
- Support site audits, internal and external, pro-actively dealing with non-conformity to drive compliance standards.
- Conducting necessary health & safety checks on equipment and the working environment in line with required schedules.
- Assist with the implementation and delivery of the departmental objectives, enforcing routines, structure and reporting lines.
- Promoting a positive working environment, developing a culture of team work within direct reports and across the wider team.
Knowledge, Skills and Requirements:
- Qualifications
- Experience
- Knowledge/Skills
- HACCP / Food Safety – Level 2 desirable
- COSHH / Chemical Handling training essential
- Previous experience within a team leader / supervisory role is desirable
- Previous experience in quality based role within the meat, chilled foods and/or added value sectors desired
- Good understanding of current health & safety requirements
- Strong people management and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a hands on approach to front line management.
