Join a team of next generation thinkers.What To ExpectThis role sits within the Driver Modes team within Motion Systems & Software Integration in Body Chassis EngineeringThe Driver Modes team develop systems to deliver customer facing features including Terrain Response on Land Rover products and Adaptive Surface Response on Jaguar products.The role involves the definition; development and delivery of harmonised systems solutions to meet the needs of customer level features. This will include eliciting stakeholder requirements from a range of internal customers, developing logical and physical architectures, and working closely with engineers across a range of vehicle systems to deliver against these requirements. You will also support the delivery of rigorous Functional Safety and Cyber Security cases as part of the Systems Engineering process.You will work within an Agile product development environment focused on creating value for your stakeholdersKey Accountabilities
  • Delivery of systems within Motion Systems & Software Integration across the range of Jaguar Land Rover vehicles
  • Assist and contribute to the generation of targets and verification methods that are driven by Customer, Function Requirements and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
  • Contribute to the delivery of the area onto all programmes, in line with the Systems Engineering discipline outlined by Product Creation Systems
  • Provide technical support and assistance across the operational team on topics relating to the integration and harmonisation of multiple interconnected components including issue resolution and objective data analysis
  • Work with Technical Specialists and Research Engineering on Attribute and Function Forward Strategies, including new Function Definition and Failure Mode Avoidance
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested
What You’ll NeedKnowledge, Skills and ExperienceEssential:
  • Good relevant experience of working in a Systems Engineering environment - ideally within the Automotive Sector
  • Requirements Management (RM)
  • Good verbal and written communications
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Understanding of principles of vehicle dynamic behaviour
  • Track record as an effective team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Full driving licence
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
Desirable:
  • Experience in applying Systems Engineering and in solving complex technical issues using a structured approach
  • Experience in Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML using IBM Rational Rhapsody, Dassault Systemes Catia Magic or similar toolset
  • Experience in IBM Rational DOORS, Dassault Systèmes TRM or similar toolset
  • Experience using Matlab & Simulink
  • Modelling of vehicle dynamic behaviour
  • Experience of working in an Agile product development environment
  • Willingness to be involved with overseas testing. Note: Typical testing locations in which Chassis Engineers may have to operate, depending on vehicle type & functions under investigation: UK, Europe, Sweden, USA, UAE
