We are looking for a sustainability professional to join our Sustainability team in London looking after our central-London projects.

The Sustainability Manager role

  • Responsible for project performance and reporting against Build Sure, and the effective implementation of our reporting tools.
  • Ensuring the requirements of ISO14001 and our EMS are delivered on projects.
  • Provide sustainability and environmental expertise and support to project functions.
  • Champion sustainability on site, ensuring a consistent approach in line with the company’s sustainability strategy including themes such as embodied carbon, lifecycle cost assessment, circular economy and biodiversity.
  • Detailed understanding of client Sustainability requirements and how to deliver them.
  • Contributing to design & specification reviews to ensure that they deliver the necessary performance required by both company and client requirements.
  • Contributing to cost benefit / return on investment analysis on VE options during tender, design and procurement.
  • Advising on design options to improve sustainability and environmental assessment (e.g. BREEAM, WELL, HQM, LEED) performance.
  • Ensuring that procurement documentation reflects the project sustainability requirements with correct clauses written in contract documents for supply chain.
  • Sharing best practice and innovation through Case Studies.

Your profile

  • Maintenance of Environmental Management System certified to ISO14001;
  • Ensuring all project, client and Sir Robert McAlpine’s sustainability requirements are embedded in commercial documentation with trade contractors and delivered on site;
  • Implementation of community investment initiatives and delivery of Section 106 obligations;
  • Management of environmental assessments such as BREEAM,
  • Conducting regular site inspection and internal audits to measure site environmental performance;
