Applefields School are seeking to recruit Multiple full-time and part-time Support Workers at Applefields School.


Hours to work

11:00am to 1:00pm, Monday to Friday

11:00am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday

9:00am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday

During the school term, to start as soon as possible.


These posts provide general classroom support, personal care, and medical intervention for students with, behaviours which challenge & profound and multiple learning difficulties, while recognising children as individuals as described in the SEND Code of Practice 2014.


The successful candidates will work as a member of the class team supporting our students’ access to the curriculum and the development of their communication, personal, and social independence skills.


The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a child centred professional who has successful experience of working with children with a wide range of special educational need.
  • Be committed to helping our students achieve the very best and become as independent as possible.
  • Be able to provide effective support for the development of the students’ communication.
  • Be able to develop strong relationships to support the development of the students’ personal and social independence skills.
  • Support students with their personal care and welfare needs.
  • Be confident supporting children with behaviours that challenge.
  • Be a strong advocate of inclusion.
  • Be confident to accept responsibility and work independently, able to demonstrate initiative and have flexible attitude to the challenging demands of working with children and young people with additional and complex needs.
  • Be able to work collaboratively.
  • Be a reflective practitioner who aligns their values with the needs of the school.
  • Be committed to continued professional development, via self-directed training and leadership lead feedback.

Grade 4 Level 2-4 (£21,475 to £22,288 per annum) reduced pro-rata.
