The Role

Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is looking for an ambitious individual to help support delivery of the Farming in Protected Landscapes grant programme across Nidderdale AONB.

Created by Defra, and managed by AONB and National Park teams, the Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) programme will help farmers, land managers and others to deliver work on the farmed landscape under the themes of climate, nature, people and place.

This is an opportunity to get involved in farming and land management conservation in Nidderdale AONB. You should have some previous conservation experience, preferably in an up lands setting, and a strong desire to learn about farming and land management in protected landscapes. You will be articulate and organised, able to organise events and with the ability to work closely with farmers, land managers and other project partners.

You will support the Farming in Protected Landscape Officer to help deliver the programme by supporting farmers and land managers with their applications, promoting FiPL online, creating promotional materials, running events and helping to monitor and evaluate the programme.

You will be based at Nidderdale AONB’s office in Pateley Bridge where you will be part of a team who work on natural and cultural heritage projects with a wide range of partners. A full driving license and access to a car is essential.
