What to expect
As part of a team of engineers based in region responsible for supplier software quality. You will have the responsibility for:-
Working with internal stakeholders and supplier representatives to ensure JLR software requirements are met. Upfront support from Requirements Management, ensuring traceability though development and the successful delivery of functioning software to production and in maintenance phase.
Supporting the correct level of support and interaction between JLR and the supplier, working to ensure the suppliers both have a functioning process for development and adherence to stated processes.
Issue resolution including onsite support as required at supplier development locations linked to SW development, releasing and testing.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Management
- Work collaboratively across internal teams incl. Electrical Hardware, Engineering, Quality and Operations
- Manage stakeholders to ensure objectives and deliverables and in particular inter-dependencies are understood, aligned and managed to achieve project objectives
- Develop relationships with existing and potential suppliers
- Report status reports on active projects to management
- Ensure suppliers understand and are qualified to JLR minimum standards
- Provide project leadership focus and visibility with suppliers
Quality & Performance Management
- Agree delivery performance KIPs and develop improvement plans, working closely with the JLR team and supplier
- Design and implement adequate controls for on-going supplier performance management
- Develop capabilities to identify gaps and implement closure plans eg using Automotive SPICE audits, system and process assessments, problem solving tools.
- Ensure SLA metrics are reported according to the contractual commitments and related service improvement plans are being tracked
- Collaborate with Engineering teams to ensure all aspects of regulatory compliance are adhered to. Manage interactions with audit/regulatory/accreditation
- Provide assurance of software project delivery to product and quality expectations
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Broad experience of managing external stakeholder and supplier relationsip management
- Excellent internal stakeholder management and relationship management skills and experience
- Able to manage and execute complex projects on time
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to converse at all levels of the organisation and with external
- Working knowledge of problem solving/RCA tools such as 8D, FTA
- Experience of conducting or participating in Audits and assessments
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Fluent knowledge of English with excellent written and spoken communication skills
Desirable:
- Knowledge of APQP and PAPP
- Experience working in a scaled Agile environment
- Engineering back-ground
- ASPICE Trained assessor
