Sludge Logistics Scheduler

There is an opportunity for you to join our team and deliver a vital service to the community as a Sludge Logistics Scheduler!

The role

The Sludge Logistics team is responsible for operating and managing planned in-house and contracted sludge tankering from treatment and production sites, as well as managing emergency situations, such as active sludge seeding.

As the Sludge Logistics Scheduler your role in the team will be to schedule the fleet of Wessex Water sludge tankers as they move sewage sludge from origin sites and take it to treatment sites for processing. The scheduler is responsible throughout each day for motivating tanker drivers with clear and concise communication and effective management and scheduling of planned and reactive incidents.

What do I need?

We are looking for a well-organised motivated planner with excellent communication skills and someone who has the ability to work effectively under pressure.

In addition, we are looking for:

  • Experience in a transport logistics role
  • Knowledge of sewage treatment processes
  • Good geographical knowledge of the Wessex Water region
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • IT literacy, including Microsoft Excel
