What will I be doing?

The Electrical Technician position will support the facilitation of operations, installations, maintenance, repairs, and modifications to the HPC utility networks. Adhering to the rigorous permit conditions set by external agencies and regulatory bodies in order to avoid severe financial penalties and any detrimental impact to the Company’s and client’s reputation.

To provide efficient electrical operations, installations, maintenance, fault finding, diagnosis and repair of NNB Generation Company’s utility assets. These include potable supply network, water management network, sewerage network, sewage treatment assets and communications.

The Electrical Technician will have the following accountabilities: -

  • Provide an installation, maintenance, and repair function for the electrical assets for the dewatering network, treatment and all associated assets serving Hinkley Point C.
  • Maximising all controllable factors to meet external quality targets
  • Responsible for own activities to ensure relevant KPI and SLA targets are achieved
  • Promoting a culture of awareness to improve safety and reduce accidents / incidents protecting workforce from injury and company from prosecution
  • Support improvements in team productivity to make the most of resources and being able to show value to the client
  • Implement efficiencies and innovations in operations to provide cost savings to the client where applicable
  • Ensuring good liaison with NNB stakeholders – Site Operations, Environmental, Security, Construction Delivery Leads, Site Engineers, promoting a consistent approach, technical advice, and swift resolution of any identified problems.
  • Supervise third party contractor work to ensure compliance with Health and Safety , standards, and good value without risk to quality
  • Managing interfaces with other departments, building relationships, and getting prompt and effective resolutions of issues.
  • The potential to Participate in a shift pattern and 24/7 out of hours standby function

What are the requirements?

NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification with Health and Safety training with field practice such as SSSTS/IOSH, CSCS and Confined spaces. Strong communication and team working skills. Although not a requirement it would be desirable to have experience in the water industry. Someone who can provide a rapid and effective response to operational problems will thrive in this role.

The ideal candidate will be able to build and maintain long term working relationships within the COMA team, our contracting partners, and the client.
