We are currently recruiting for a Safety, Health, Environmental (SHEQ Manager). This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading Utility specialist based in the Yorkshire area.

Ideally, the SHEQ Manager will have previous experience of working in utilities, preferably water or construction.

The successful candidate will deliver a high standard of workmanship and professionalism and ensure full compliance is delivered in site health and safety at all times.

As the SHEQ Manager you will be part of our SHEQ and Operational Leadership Team.

The Job

Promoting and embedding a positive Health and Safety culture

Be a self-starter with the ability to influence operational colleagues to work to, and in line with, company and legal requirements

Represent MWS at client meetings

Carry out compliance audits and inspections which include but are not limited to; Construction Design Management Regulations, Health Surveillance. Display Screen Equipment, Underground Services Avoidance and Temporary Works,

Strategically advise and support the Framework Manager with SHEQ strategy across the contractual area

Develop Health and Safety management systems including quality assurance systems, to ensure compliance with internal and external audits.

Supporting the development and implementation of the Health and Safety Environmental strategy.

Attend relevant courses/seminars run by external facilitators to enable accurate interpretation of legislation to enable implementation within the organisation.

Managing and maintaining emergency procedures such as Fire Marshals and First Aiders.

Manage and develop the SHEQ team across the Programme Delivery contractual area

Manage and develop the SHEQ plan with the Framework Manager

Strategically plan and manage inspections/audits and identify areas for improvement

Provide expert SHEQ advice and support to operational personnel within the contractual area

Plan and manage the delivery of contract and Morrison Water Services training courses, initiatives and events

Support the transition from paper based forms to a digital solution

Manage the production and communication of incident and accident investigations and provide root cause analysis reports as directed

Ensure the audit and site inspection regime is happening in a robust and measurable way Education/Qualifications:

Tech IOSH or Chartered status (IOSH or MIRSM)

NEBOSH Construction Certificate

Relevant EUSR Qualifications

Environmental qualifications (desirable) Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

Background in utilities, preferably water or construction

Experience

d SHEQ professional with experience of operating in a large contractual area with a proven track record of strategically influencing internal and external stakeholders

Good understanding of works in the clean and waste water networks business arena

Quality Auditor or a solid understanding

Strong communicator
