The Opportunity

JLR has a purpose for creating experiences that customer’s love. This role will support this in the following way:
  • Deliver the required retailer technical information and capabilities in time for the prescribed gateways and to a high quality to support “Right First Time Repair” for our customer’s vehicles.
  • Ongoing updates for all retailer information and capabilities globally to support quality actions.
  • Develop Jaguar Land Rover strategy to provide world class diagnosis and repair capabilities to meet Jaguar Land Rover and retailer’s needs.
In your role:
  • Deliver the required retailer technical information and capabilities in time for the prescribed gateways and to a high quality to support “Right First Time Repair” for our customer’s vehicles.
  • Ongoing updates for all retailer information and capabilities globally to support quality actions.
  • Develop Jaguar Land Rover strategy to provide world class diagnosis and repair capabilities to meet Jaguar Land Rover and retailer’s needs.
  • Manage a large team of ~50 internal staff through 4 direct reports, with an operational budget of ~£7M pa to ensure delivery of accurate diagnosis and repair content
  • Delivery of the diagnosis and repair strategy for identified features/commodities
  • Ensuing KPI and appropriate metrics are met
  • Ensuring vehicle quality issues are dealt with quickly and efficiently, putting plans in place to prevent reoccurrence
  • Engage external suppliers through robust Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)to ensure maximum customer value in outsourcing arrangements. (e.g. translation)
  • Ensuring required labour times and auxiliary information are accurate and available
  • Management of the TS workshop and associated development fleet.
What You’ll Need

Essential:
  • Proven track record in leadership and management of large teams with evidence of a coaching style in developing people to successfully deliver
  • Sound project management and leadership skills specialising over several years in technical managerial positions
  • Detailed understanding of automotive quality
  • Proven history of delivery in a customer focused environment under tight deadlines
  • Significant experience in delivery of automotive technical information and publishing systems including underlying technologies such as XML and strategies such as translation memory and terminology
  • Significant knowledge of CAD and related standards and tools
  • Proven competency in budget management and supplier relationships
  • Significant knowledge of technologies for creating diagnostic sequences (OTX) and describing on board vehicles (ODX)
  • Knowledge of the legislative requirements and the influence of the aftermarket
  • Significant knowledge and knowhow in a number of vehicle features or commodities, ideally in new and emerging technology such as ADAS, electrification or hydrogen
  • Significant understanding of franchised retailers, their needs and drivers
  • Experience in use of problem resolution processes. 6 Sigma qualification an advantage.
  • Confident and able to deal with internal / external senior leadership and supplier partners as required.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively including reporting status to senior forums and influencing decisions at a senior level.
  • Ability to form and maintain extensive networks and build cross functional teams globally.
