Summary

The Bristol portfolio has a Children’s and Young Persons Hub which means we are developing ways to effectively engage diverse groups of children and young people to support the National Trust’s ‘Everyone Welcome’ ambitions. The role holder will lead this area of work for the portfolio on behalf of the organisation with other regional hub leads, evolving models of access for children and young people, developing resources,models and approaches as well as building self-sustaining pricing structures and developing best practice to share. The role holder will work alongside regional consultants to support other properties in the region with this work. This is in addition to the other elements on the role profile.

What it’s like to work here

The 70-strong team at this spectacular Victorian gothic house have ambitious plans for growth over the next few years. Tyntesfield’s excellent location just outside of Bristol means there is great scope to develop the visitor experience to this vast estate, and the team are encouraged to be forward thinking and creative in their approach. There is a strong sustainability focus at the property with working kitchen gardens that produce delicious produce for the café and restaurant.

What you’ll be doing

As Tyntesfield and Leigh Woods are one new Children and Young Persons hubs for the National Trust, your role will also be key in influencing and developing this area of work building on our existing successful Learning programme.

  • To develop and lead on opportunities to engage children and young people with the Bristol Portfolio and the National Trust.
  • To work with internal and external partners, including volunteers to create a programme that listens and responds to the needs and aspirations of children and young people.
  • To actively support the visitor experience operation, working closely with colleagues to maintain a high standard of service for our visitors.
  • To manage and develop our learning programme.
Who we’re looking for
  • A team player bringing enthusiasm and passion to contribute to our visitor programme
  • Someone who will think from children and young person’s perspective to enable us to grow that offer
  • Experience of building working partnerships

This is a fixed term contract due to end when the previous employee returns from maternity leave. At this point we cannot confirm exactly how long this contract will last, but it is unlikely to be more than 12 Months .

This role is required to work with vulnerable groups including children and any offer of employment or volunteering is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
