What To Expect

The MPM (Manufacturing Programme Management) department has responsibility for leading & co-ordinating all business functions with the objective of achieving flawless product launches, with achievement of time, cost and quality targets, MPM provide the Single Point of Contact for Manufacturing. This requires interaction & co-ordination of Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Finance, Suppliers and the Commercial activities.

This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience in the E2E Manufacturing Programme environment. The Manufacturing Programme Management function hold a unique position at the heart of manufacturing delivery - from initial feasibility through to detail launch planning and delivery and into volume production. This role will bring you into contact with an extensive number of areas in the business and provide you with an opportunity to develop and utilise your transferrable project management skills in both the planning and delivery of our new products.

Experience and an understanding of the Global manufacturing environment would be desirable for the successful candidate to assist with embedding the overall integration of worldwide low volume into the overall Programme Management landscape.

Key Accountabilities And Responsibilties

Delivery :
  • Support delivery of Programme against overall timing plan (VPF) from to
  • Support the planning and delivery of manufacturing plans for delivery prototype, pre-production build phases and J1
  • Prepare accurate and objective technical status reports in support of programme/launch management (PST, LMM) meetings and senior programme gateway reviews (MPRR, NMLR, MSC, Pre Prod and Prod Committee)
  • Utilise standardised project management tools to support a smooth project delivery (Agile methodologies, P6)
  • Change Control Governance

Quality :
  • Assist functional areas within MFG to drive quality products & processes with robust input into launch quality deliverables, high hurts process, PFMEAs etc
  • Identify and engage in continuous improvement & standardisation activities within the business improvement team
  • Lead the planning and coordination of quality focus area activities
  • Lead and coordinate structured problem solving across cross functional teams in preventing and resolving launch issues
  • Support all MFG functions in the robust resolution of programme issues (AIMS) to deliver product feasibility and Manufacturing Launch readiness (VB onwards)

Cost :
  • Co-ordinate cost target development & programme cost studies within MFG
  • Analyse & compile manufacturing financial input in terms of CAPEX, OPEX, Tooling and launch costs.
  • Co-ordinate Manufacturing responses to Programme PDLs and Change Management requests.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the manufacturing programme budgets including implementation and management of SAP WBS structure.
  • Provide inputs for monthly finance summary (SOMP)

People :
  • Lead cross functional reviews to address programme issues using issue management tools (i.e.AIM2)
  • Lead MPAT (Manufacturing Programmes Attribute Team)
  • Demonstrate exemplary Customer First Principles to create a positive working atmosphere
  • Ability to represent the ‘voice of manufacturing’ & deputise for line manager in senior forums
  • Support the improvement of employee engagement & satisfaction (PULSE) within the team

What You’ll Need

Essential:
  • Experience of project management
  • Schedule Management (Project Plans)
  • Experience in using data driven problem solving techniques
  • Experience of working in a new product launch environment
  • Experience of working in a quality focussed role
  • Microsoft package elements (Power Point & Excel)
  • Demonstrable experience of process improvement and working in a project support role
  • Proficient communication and organisational skills

Desirable:
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing or automotive environment
  • Experience of metric and reporting delivery to support programme delivery
  • Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred
