The challenge is on engineering teams to find innovative ways in architecting the platform to establish a software defined vehicle capable of seamlessly integrating to the customer’s digital ecosystem while transforming to a highly autonomous and electrified drive. Substantial portion of the challenge lies in architecting the onboard electronics to enable this transformation.You will be part of the Engineering Semiconductor Strategy team who are leading the long-term strategy on transforming the way we engage with partners in architecting our vehicle electronic systems with a heavy emphasis on critical semiconductor devices.Key Responsibilities include:
  • Work as part of a large cross functional team in developing the concepts for the onboard electronics for future generations of vehicles.
  • Capture and align domain roadmaps with the architecture capability to shape the concepts.
  • Create opportunities for saving cost, material and complexity from the architecture while increasing capability and flexibility.
  • Support and lead projects enabling consolidation of electronic hardware in the architecture.
  • Lead, and support the rest of product engineering functions to review partner and supplier portfolios and roadmaps to provide future requirements.
  • Drive and enable collaborative technology development between engineering functions and partners and suppliers.
  • Support engineering functions to work with partners and suppliers on proof of concepts and technology demonstrators.
  • Drive and support technical engagements with partners and suppliers.
What You’ll NeedAs the Senior Electrical Architecture Engineer, you will need; To hold a formal qualification such as Degree in Electronics, Communication, Software or similar. You will need to be Problem solver with an agile way of working, knowledge of agile principles, ceremonies and artefacts. You will need extensive knowledge and working experience of electrical architecture of complex distributed systems (ideally in automotive), and/or specific vehicle electronic systems such as chassis controls, body electronics, power supply, infotainment, connectivity, networks, powertrain electronics, driver assistance sensing and computing, preferably in a System Architect role.Essential:
  • Creative thinking in generating automotive architectural concepts and being able to comfortably present ideas to wider technical and non-technical audiences at an operational and executive environment.
  • Significant knowledge of platform composition of individual modules and their interfaces within complex and critical (preferably automotive) environments.
  • Significant knowledge of control and communication of subsystems (chassis, lighting, connectivity electronics, sensors, audio, restraints, etc.).
  • Understanding of implications of functional safety and cyber-security on architecture and working with relevant functions.
  • Understanding of robust, reliable, real-time processing and communication.
Desireable:
  • Knowledge, skills and experience of semiconductor portfolios, developing these to the needs of customers, choosing and applying semiconductors (System on Chip, Processors, Integrated Circuits, Discrete components, etc) to fulfil a customer’s application.
  • Knowledge, skills and experience of architecting and designing electronic hardware, including identification and selection of semiconductors (System on Chip, Processors, Integrated Circuits, Discrete components, etc).
