Overview / Responsibilities

Senior Electrical Engineer (EOI) - Hull Based

Wood Process & Energy are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Electrical Engineers due to anticipated growth in the Humberside region. The opportunity will support various potential clients and project scopes long term to e xecute Electrical Discipline engineering activities within the budget and schedule, maintain technical integrity.

Day to day you will be r esponsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance.

Key Aims & Objectives:

  • Execute electrical engineering activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Development, Technical Study & Detailed Design)
  • Act as Discipline Focal Point / Lead Engineer as required

Prime Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Achieve safety standards as defined in personal performance contract
  • Carry out work in accordance with company and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems
  • Maintain the required technical quality of work
  • Ensure that designs comply with the relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and Procedures
  • Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process
  • Maintain planning and cost control on all scopes
  • Ensure that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule
  • Keep up to date with technical developments, National and International standards and legislative requirements
  • Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in their review
  • Maintain good communication with the client
  • Maintain discipline filing system
  • Encourage and provide lateral learning within the project

Skills / Qualifications

Essential:

  • UK Bachelors Degree or HNC (or equivalent with experience) in appropriate engineering subject
  • Experienced engineer with a strong technical background and expertise
  • Highly experienced in site surveys and data gathering on brownfield projects
  • Experienced in the use of design and assessment methods used within discipline
  • Competent in use of analytical methods used within discipline including theoretical background for analysis programs
  • Aware of commercial, contractual and administrative aspects of engineering
  • Background in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical industries
  • Able to work with other disciplines and draughting sections to meet delivery dates
  • Experienced in quality control requirements and quality assurance for engineering work
  • Competent in design safety / environmental requirements and procedures

Desirable:

  • Chartered Engineer and member of appropriate engineering institution
