The Role

We are looking for a Senior Director of Product Management to lead one of Solera’s key product verticals providing data and software solutions to the Automotive Service, Maintenance, and Repair industry. This critical role is fundamental to the realization of Solera’s steep growth plans for a business representing over $200M in annual revenue, driven by several industry leading product lines, and stretching across the globe.

This leader will set a global product vision and strategy, with strong autonomy and accountability to lead transformational change across the business to enhance and expand the product lines.

We require a passionate digital product innovator with a breadth and depth of experience within fast-paced and agile global organization. They will need proven expertise in building, coaching and motivating high performing product teams, driving senior stakeholder alignment between Product Management and the wider business, and leveraging first-class influence and collaboration skills.

The role is broadly international, but the primary focus will be US and UK.

What You’ll Do
  • You’ll be responsible for the overall success and strategy of the product vertical, working through your team of Product Managers and Directors to ensure delivery against product-specific strategies and goals.
  • Work with the senior leadership team and other key stakeholders to prioritize across a large and complex set of existing products and new opportunities to improve and expand the current product vertical, with overall product roadmap management.
  • Create strong business cases to select the best ideas/concepts before they become products/features.
  • Look beyond where the market is today, and ensure that the product vertical maintains a competitive advantage with a three-year vision.
  • Attract, hire, lead, coach and retain world class Product Managers.
  • Engage directly, where appropriate, with clients, vendors, and partners to support commercial efforts.
  • Maintain C-level stakeholder engagement and relationships both within Solera and at a customer level.
  • Become an expert in the industry and our target markets to help define our competitive product strategy.
  • Ensure the product function is appropriately organized and staffed to enable them to achieve the approved strategy and to deliver positive customer outcomes.
  • For your product vertical manage product metrics and dashboards including product performance, customer satisfaction and ROI.
  • Own the P&L for your product vertical including the ownership of product pricing strategies.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders to promote a culture of engagement.
What You’ll Bring
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, covering the management of multiple global products, focusing on software, data, and search solutions, ideally with exposure to the automotive sector.
  • P&L (product) management. Comfortable operating in a commercial environment underpinned by financial data.
  • Track record of successfully delivering products in an Agile environment within agreed scope such as timelines and budgets.
  • Experience of leading, coaching and developing Product Managers and teams to deliver high quality outputs.
  • Ability to manage and influence at all levels of an organization both internally and externally.
  • Flexibility to travel and work different hours.
  • A global outlook with an understanding of how to shape global product strategy understanding the different needs of regional markets.
  • Demonstrable success in interpreting technology and market trends, converting these into winning product strategies, and successfully executing on these strategies through all aspects of the product lifecycle and have them drive commercial success.
  • Excellent communication with the capability of motivating and energizing the broader team and peers, with a proven ability to create a highly collaborative working environment.
  • Positive outlook, a hands-on approach and a naturally high work ethic focused on swift execution.
  • Passion regarding the creation of engaging and thoughtful customer experiences across the product portfolio.
