We are looking for an enthusiastic individual looking for a challenge to join our dynamic team of Pharmacy Technicians. Applicants from Community Pharmacies are welcome as extensive Inhouse training will be given. You will have an NVQ or equivalent in Pharmaceutical Science or working towards gaining your qualification. You will be a registered Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council or working towards gaining the qualifications to enable registration.

Main duties of the job

The role will be varied and challenging, you will be expected to work to tight schedules to achieve targets and you will be expected to respond to customer needs. An Accuracy Checking validation would be desirable but in house training is available. You will be committed, enthusiastic, adaptable to change and ready for a challenge. A good attention to detail is imperative in this role.

Full time hours are 37.5hrs per week – all hours to be worked over 7 days shifted working depending on specific service requirements. You will be flexible, willing to work on both QMC and City Campuses.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To provide comprehensive, professional and high quality technical support in the provision of pharmaceutical services to wards and departments on a rotational basis. To provide dispensary based activities, laboratory based activities and distribution based activities to the customers of NUH pharmacy.

To be part of the pharmacy team by promoting a positive and professional image of pharmacy and demonstrating good customer care skills. To deputise for team leaders as necessary and co-ordinate services in some Pharmacy areas. To dispense and label pharmaceuticals, also check the accuracy of the dispensing in accordance with departmental and Trust procedures.The post holder will work at both the City and QMC campuses

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.

  • Disclosure and Barring Service: Your post maybe subject to a DBS check which incur a cost dependent on the level of check required (£41.90 for enhanced and £21.90 for standard). I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check if it is required (by deduction from first month’s pay). Should I decide to withdraw from my job offer, I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of the DBS check undertaken by cheque or other agreed method.
