We’re looking for a Rights of Access Specialist to join us in Bradford on a full time, permanent basis.

This role is part of the Rights of Access Team, whose key purpose is to provide support to the Virgin Media Wayleave Department; who obtain and maintain rights of access over land prior to installation of the Virgin Media’s infrastructure.

Reporting into the into the Rights of Access Team Manager, this role will focus on reducing the time taken to agree wayleave documents, through knowledge of legislation and ability to negotiate within legal parameters.

What will you be doing?

  • Managing a mixture of wayleave agreements referred to the team through to completion; negotiating with various parties such as Landowners, Solicitors, Surveyors, Councils and Housing Association.
  • Providing advice to the Wayleave Officers’ enquiries. This will empower the Wayleave Officers to manage disputes with confidence through accurate and consistent support.
  • Producing high quality legal documentation including editing and negotiating specific wording, proof reading, technical drafting of contract clauses with the ability to self-manage.
  • Researching and applying current legislation, and considering this alongside case law in order to properly advise and support Wayleave Officers.
  • Providing feedback to the Team Manager in terms of trends observed; to assist with the continual development of reference documents and training to the Wayleave Department.
We Tend To Look For People With

  • Experience of working in a legal Real Estate and/or Property Law team.
  • Degree level education OR relevant qualifications
  • Considerable experience of case handling at a high volume and in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Calm under pressure and able to prioritise.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Good negotiating skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
Desirable

  • Working knowledge of the Electronic Communications Code would be beneficial but not essential.
