Job description
SummaryIf you’re interested in becoming a Retail Team Leader and have the appetite to engage with visitors and boost our retail potential, then you could be the person for this job.
The Hours:950 hours over the year;
Our peak season runs from May – September. The majority of the hours will be worked in this time period, 3 – 4 days per week and supporting the Retail Manager, alongside the other Team Leader to run the business and manage the team as per the role profile attached. From October to February, although we trade at weekends, working days will reduce to between 1 and 2 depending upon the weekly rota’s. Tasks at this time include accepting deliveries, annual stock takes, merchandising and helping the RM to prepare for delivery of next season’s vision for retail at Hidcote and the Trust.
The days worked should be as flexible as possible and weekend working on a rota basis with the other team Leader and the RM.
The Salary: £9.38 per hour/ £8,911 per annum
Duration: Permanent
This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year

What you’ll be doingYou’ll be required to support the day to day management of the property retail operation so that it is commercially successful and consistently exceeds our visitors expectations. You’ll monitor stock and merchandise products to achieve stretching financial targets, leading by example when it comes to maximising our profitability and income.
You’ll also supervise paid and voluntary retail staff and work effectively alongside colleagues elsewhere in the property to deliver great service to visitors, promoting and enhancing the property’s sense of place.

• Experience of working in a retail environment including selling and merchandising skills.
• Strong people skills enabling good relationships.
• Knowledge of retail best practice including selling and merchandising skills and effective space management.
