A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the Respiratory Department at Nottingham University Hospitals. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic persons to join our team, in supporting our Specialty PAs in delivering a high quality administrative service to our consultants, clinical teams and patients.

The Respiratory Service is based on both City Campus and QMC Campus. We are currently looking for individuals to be based at the City Campus. Full time applicants are preferred though we are open to consideration of part-time applications (please state in your application preferences).

Main duties of the job

Working as part of a wider team the post holder must exercise initiative to organise their own workload within defined deadlines facilitating an efficient and effective transition for patients through pathway ensuring they receive the appropriate diagnostic tests and appointments within a specified timescale.

Some of the key elements taken from the Job description are:-

Use and maintain admin and patient information systems/databases/reports in relation to patient pathway e.g. for tracking and flagging investigations and results and booking appointments.

Telephone calls inbound/outbound relating to patients specific care, in a confidential, sensitive and empathetic manner, with patients , GPs and wider health community.

Accurately transcribing from digital dictation, outpatient clinic letters and miscellaneous clinical correspondence to a high standard and within specified timescales.

Essential criteria

  • 5 GCSE’s or equivalent C or above – must include English - 2
  • Proven typing experience of letters/reports preferably from dictation systems preferably
  • Proven experience in office administration including outlook, spreadsheets, word, reports tables

Desirable criteria

  • Previous admin experience of working in the NHS using patient systems (medway, notis, DHR etc)

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
