The post is to investigate cell-cell interactions in the context of gastrointestinal diseases in the Korcsmaros group. You will carry out research programmes in analysing multi-omics datasets, generating cell-cell interaction network models, and to undertake supervision of undergraduate students. The Research Associate will be expected to submit publications to refereed journals and to lead the development of grant applications for external research funding.

Duties and responsibilities

You will identify and develop suitable techniques, and new methodologies, for processing and analysing of data from patient samples or from publicly available resources. You are expected to ensure the validity and reliability of data at all times. You will write reports for submission to research sponsors, and present findings to colleagues and at conferences. You are expected to develop and submit grant applications, and to develop or contribute to publications to refereed journals. You will provide guidance and short training to staff and students.

Essential requirements

You should have:

  • Practical experience within a research environment and first authored publication(s) in relevant and refereed journals
  • Experience of dealing with signalling network resources and related tools
  • Practical experience in analysing cell-cell interactions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computational biology approaches to analyse multi-omics data as well as research methods and resources to investigate cytokine-based communication

Further information

This post is full time, fixed term for 18 months with a competitive salary. Flexible working hours and option for remote working can be discussed.
