We are looking for a Postgraduate Administrator to provide comprehensive, high level administrative and management support to ensure the efficient delivery of the MSc in Immunology, MSc Molecular Medicine, Mastering Laboratory Skills Short Course and the MRC Addiction Research Clinical Training (MARC) programme. This role is offered as a job share with the current post holder.

The Department of Immunology and Inflammation aims to nurture the next generation of scientists by training undergraduates and postgraduates and by creating a collaborative environment that supports the career development of young scientists. The Department offers a broad portfolio of study options including the MSc Immunology, BSc Haematology and BSc Immunity and Infection programmes. It also co-delivers the MSc in Molecular Medicine, a range of short courses and welcomes applications from talented PhD candidates from around the world.

Duties and responsibilities

You will be a key point of contact for students and staff associated with these programmes. You will work closely with the Programme Leads and Academic teams, and more widely with colleagues across the Departments of Immunology & Inflammation, Department of Infectious Disease and Brain Sciences, the Faculty of Medicine, College Central Services and with external academics who are external examiners or project supervisors. You will report to the Programme Leads and UG/PG Coordinator for the department.

Essential requirements

You should be educated to degree level or equivalent, have experience in a similar role in the Higher Education Sector, and have knowledge of Virtual Learning Environments (VLE’s) and technology-enhanced learning as these are central to the College’s Teaching and Learning Strategy.

You must have excellent written and oral communication skills. As this role is a job share, you will need to be able to work cooperatively, especially with the existing job holder, but autonomously on the days you work alone. You should be able to prioritise, work to deadlines, be self-motivated, resourceful, well organised and have a customer-focused approach to your work.

Further information

The role is part time (0.6 FTE) and fixed term for 2 years. It is ordinarily based at the Hammersmith campus but involvement in departmental activities will necessitate travel to other College campuses. There may be the opportunity to work remotely on some days.

As this is offered as a job share with the current post holder, you will work 3 days a week (Wednesday – Friday).
