The Client is a 46-year-old man who suffers the effects of an acquired brain injury. The Client is physically impaired and suffers from communication problems. The Client is highly intelligent and takes an active interest in all matters relating to his care and support. The right candidate would be required to support the client within his own home.

The Rehab Assistant role involves:
Implementing therapy exercises and guidelines
Providing the Client with support enabling him to access a range of social, recreational and sporting activities.
Assisting the Client manage episodes of challenging behaviour.
Providing the Client with personal care
Solving day to day problems in partnership with members of the professional team
Conducting regular informal reviews with the client and his family and providing feedback to the Case Manager/ Assistant Case Manager as required
Assisting the Assistant Case Manager Complete and record monthly care plan reviews and reporting any changes to the Case Manager/Assistant Case Manager for implementation
Ensure company policies and procedures and read, signed and adhered to by yourself and other staff including agency workers
Ensure that you complete training allocated to you within the timeframes set
Supporting the client to therapy sessions
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Sensitivity and discretion necessary to working within a Client’s own home
Ability to absorb complex information and training provided by the case manager and therapists and to demonstrate accurate implementation of instruction and guidelines.
Effective team working skills
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Always behaving within the good practice guidelines and standards of consent outlined in ‘The Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers in England’.
Maintaining accurate records.
Full clean driving licence required
Desired requirements
NVQ Level 2 (minimum) in health and social care
Experience of working in clients own home
Experience of working for Case Managers
Experience of supporting clients with acquired brain injuries
Experience of supporting clients with physical disabilities
Experience of supporting clients with challenging behaviours
Working hours
Monday to Sunday - 7.45am - 10.30pm
Availability to cover annual leave a sickness
rate of pay is £14 p/h Mon-Fri
£15.50 p/h Sat-Sun, and
£15.50 b/h.
